Empower players to become the true heroes of their video games!

and the winners are…

The Winning Projects

Your chance is provably fair, you can trust Blockchain!

Gauthier Petetin, Raphael Pralat, Pablo Valles

Piggy Breaker makes it possible to generate in-game randomness in a transparent way, based on the “provably fair” principle. The more a player contributes (through a bet, his actions, his points, his commitment …), the more his probability of being the winner increases… But how to be totally sure that the winner is designated by chance? The answer is in the Blockchain, transparent and inviolable!

UGC, P2P trading and community-based decisions: full powers in RPG!

Yohan Maurin, Jean-Mickaël Nounahon, Constantin Pépin, Isabelle Pereira, Maxime Tirlemont

This project strengthens the social interactions between players, and gives a power of governance to every member of a community! Players have a right to vote that enables a transparent management of factions … and as true owners of the assets they collect, they can assemble, craft, and exchange them with other players.

Virtual Heroes become IRL Heroes!

Benjamin Athuil, Simon Chanut, Pierre Demessence, Alexandre Duarte, Maxime Golfier, David Prinçay

In Care Game, players have a positive impact in the real world: a percentage of each in-game transaction is donated to a charity! Their achievements are certified, tokenized in the Blockchain: they become collectible trophies, monetized, and rare… No doubt that it will unleash passions of generous collectors!

Mentors' Prize

it’s worth being involved in a game!

Pauline Andrault, Rafael-Constantin Boceanu, Louis Garoche, Didier Genevois

Cryptosaucisses tackle the core of blockchain: the protocol. They propose a new algorithm based on the players’ engagement. The most engaged player is rewarded for its “mining job”, and then gains access to a new type of in-game action. It’s an incentive to stay engaged in the game… and a way to truly place the fate of a game in the hands of players!

From June 29th to July 1st,
Ubisoft leads you to the crossroads of two worlds:
Blockchain and video games

At Ubisoft, innovation is at the core our DNA, and we are convinced that video games are an amazing playground for Blockchain development. Decentralization, ownership, unique assets creation… and even new gameplays? Blockchain offers players new powers and allows them to become true stakeholders of their games!

We are already working on Blockchain’s potential: our Strategic Innovation Lab, whose mission is to help Ubisoft’s teams anticipate the future, is already exploring Blockchain applications in gaming and will be thrilled to welcome you for this Hackathon! If, like us, you are eager to imagine and prototype the future of Blockchain and video games, come and share your ideas with experts from both fields, from June 29th to July 1st 2018! Register now and we will be seeing you at Ubisoft!

* Address: Ubisoft Strategic Innovation Lab, 12-14 rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau – 93100 Montreuil-sous-Bois.

What “powers” could Blockchain unlock?

Here are a few leads:

Magical Tokens

How players create value by playing, and get some in return!

Gameplay storming

What if Blockchain could create new ways of playing thanks to its inherent properties?

From one world to an other

Frontiers are fading between games, fields and technologies, real and virtual worlds… With Blockchain, what is in the game does not necessarily stays in the game!

Empowerment

A decentralized network, community decision-making, direct sharing and exchanges… Blockchain gives full powers to the player communities!

Got any other Blockchain “powers” in mind? Go for it! There is no limit to your imagination, just a mantra: Blockchain should always serve players’ interest!
